Ocean Ridge is a barrier-island town with the Atlantic on one side and the Intracoastal on the other, and almost nothing in between. Lots are tight, the approval process is its own, and flood requirements govern more of the design than anywhere else we build.

Two of our houses are here. Our Intracoastal home in Ocean Ridge is turned so that nearly every room looks at the water, with an infinity-edge pool running toward the seawall and a glass-walled wine room off the living space. Our oceanfront home in Ocean Ridge has white gabled massing, a two-storey living room whose windows follow the pitch of the roof, and a pool, lawn and private putting green behind.

The two sit a few streets apart and are completely different houses. That is the point of building one at a time: the site decides.
